Big deal, so we lose some money in a law suit. It’s only money right, and Clark Co. Has plenty of that right? Oh, wait that’s right we are Broke. Sounds to me like it is time to hold someone, anyone accountable for their actions!

  2. January 27, 2014 at 9:10 pm

Yeah…no big deal. Moving on….nothing to see here.

(GNB note: Judge Carmicheal is not on the ballot this year.)

    County Commissioner RStephenson
    accurately posted on the CCC:
“This year the voters have a chance to choose 3 judge positions. Judges Jacobi, Weber and Moore are all up for re-election.”

    • January 27, 2014 at 10:10 pm

Judge Carmichael not being on the ballot is part of the problem. She is the one making all of the decissions down there or at least that is the way it appears as her name is constantly in the paper regarding all of the contraversesy. Perhaps a clean slate is in order and we should get rid of them all and start from scratch. Could things be any worse that way?

The question is will Clark Co. have enough money to even hold an election this year ???…with all the forthcoming lawsuits by the drug court defendants, the lawsuits of offices suing each other, and the outstanding judgements from prior law suits…the County may to have call off the election for lack of funds…. or borrow the money from drug court defendant Destiny

“Integrity Matters’ asked on the CCC:
      “Do they all have opposition?”

Commissioner RStephenson replied on the CCC, accurately, once again:
“Only Moore, Drew Adams is running against him. I have heard that there are more coming soon.”

    Ahhhh….the plot thickens….
First, Adams is setup, taped and burned…..
Then JJ is mysterious and suddenly embroiled
    in a “discovered” situation….
    …..very suspiciously/timed indeed…
    Guess what is next?

The CCPD Officer Adams, not the lawyer Adams, was ‘mysteriously’ taped in his office by a “friend”
      working for…..?
Adams was running for Sheriff as a Democrat.
      The surreptitiously obtained tape
was subsequently/mysteriously leaked to the media…..

      • January 28, 2014 at 6:37 pm

If you are trying to implicate the republicans in that one you’ve lost your damn mind. The guy behind the Adams tape is a party of one if there ever was one.

Is “Toxic John” disappointed about his air time on the latest WHAS-11 report ??

GOP candidate Jeremy Mull got more air time that JP , will he be demanding “equal time” in this an election year ???

“Toxic John” should have brought up the more important E-cigarette issue (according to NH) raging at the courthouse to WHAS-11…..

According to NH (Not Honest Mike) it’s all political anyway both the e-cigarette and drug court issues…

And is WHAS-11 reporter Renee Murphy related to any office holder in Clark Co. ??? Doug Profit ??? Melissa Swan ??? NH will know…

According to NH reporters at the News/Tribune are biased and politically motivated because they are fifth cousins by marriage twice removed to a prominent Democrat in Clark Co.

    Gossiping benefits society, study claims

Gossiping can have a positive impact on society by helping encourage co-operation and reform bullies, a new study found
    By Miranda Prynne, News Reporter
    28 Jan 2014

Gossip can benefit society by preventing bullying and encouraging co-operation, a new study suggests.

In contrast to the conventional belief that gossip and social exclusion are malicious and should be avoided, researchers found sharing “reputational information” could have a positive effect on society.

Gossip can help social groups to reform bullies, encourages co-operation and stops “nice people” being exploited, according to the study, published in the journal Psychological Science.

Dr Matthew Feinberg, a researcher at Stanford University in the United State who co-wrote the study, said: “Groups that allow their members to gossip sustain co-operation and deter selfishness better than those that don’t.

So in the last 6 months we have had a judge fire someone she did not have the authority to fire, probation officers arresting people they did not have the authority to arrest and a judge keeping people in jail longer than they should have been. Sounds to me like we have an authority problem. It’s almost like a reality show in reality. Makes you keep coming back to see what kind of county screw up is going to happen next. I gotta admit I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode.

    GAW News Bureau Breaking News.
    The local media
is missing a very important aspect
in the administration of the cases
    that come before a court.

The N-T should correct this misconception muy pronto.
    The court reporters/clerks, court employees,
    and the probation department employees
“keep tack of the cases” and present the various types of paperwork
    TO the judge.
A judge’s work process and his docket are maintained by the staff.
The judge deals with what is PRESENTED TO him
    in the division of labor.

The various types of case paperwork has to be
    the judge
for any initial or supplemental/additional action.

    Shey Van Hoy
and the N-T have put a lot of effort
into the drug court employees problems
    and they
    need to clarify,
in the name of journalistic integrity,
    this misconception right away.
I know they will do the right thing.

State of Indiana statewide “court work process informational update”

The prosecutor’s office is involved in tracking

in which they have a role.
That office also has certain/various obligations to

    Explaining the complexities
    of the daily/weekly
    process of the work
    of the various courts
    would be very interesting.
Maybe Shea and the general circulation newspaper
could provide a nice, detailed informational series
on how the courts work, how things are brought before the court.
The courts in Clark County, including the city court in Jeffersonville
and the town court in Clarksville have won many awards.
An overall view of the great work of the judges
and the courts in a series by the N-T
would be really nice for the general public.

The N-T is a fine newspaper and Shea
    is a fine, dedicated,
    and FAIR editor.
It would be nice to see the N-T
    listen to the judges
tell about the Clark County courts’
    administrative process
    and their hard, stressful, complicated,
    and difficult daily work.
The city and town courts as well as the four Circuit courts.
The Indiana Supreme Court specifically allows the judges
to discuss matters that pertain to the operation of the courts
and matters that pertain to the improvement of the judiciary.
It would be very informative for the public to see
information on how the court system in Indiana functions.
No specific case can be discussed, but the generic operational of the courts is allowable and ENCORAGED by the Indiana Supreme Court.

Its all about the money. The courts and probation office know many devious ways to shake probationers down for fees. To quote the Stones, “every cop is a criminal and all the sinners saints.” The state attorney general needs to order a independent audit of fees paid and collected. Its all cash and money orders making is difficult but not impossible to trace.

  26. January 30, 2014 at 10:42 pm

I don’t think the AG’s office has the power to press charges as that falls on the prosecutor (I think). So, either they should request a special prosecutor or bring in the Feds. Feds won’t play and don’t care who you are or who you are related to.

Tell 'em how you really feel
