It only took a decade for the local Democrats to learn the lessons Glenn Murphy Jr. taught local Republicans, relative to fresh, energetic faces. Kudos for being such quick studies and not minding that the GOP has spend most of the past 10 years handing you your asses.

      That’s “spent”, by the way.

….” the GOP has spend most of the past 10 years handing you your asses”……..

Really, just 2011 and 2012 on that “ass handing thing”…..

This group of nominees will be very tough to beat.
A significant slate of nominees to serve Clark County very well.

Oops, Oracle-dude, I forgot about the council losses and the Treasurer and Auditor losses in 2010.

        William Perry McCall
is the excellent Democrat candidate for Treasurer in 2014
        and
the GSL has not yet revealed the really good Democrat candidate for Auditor in 2014.

Stay tuned to the GAW News Bureau !

The chain of events goes back to at least 2007.

That year, Republicans claimed both the Sellersburg Town Council and Town Court. Also that year, Ron Grooms, Connie Sellers and Ed Zastawny were elected to the Jeffersonville City Council, marking the first time in about 40 years that the council had more than one Republican member.

(The caveat to 2007 is that the only major ground lost by Republicans was the Charlestown mayoral race, where Democrat Mike Hall beat incumbent Republican Bob Hall, but that lasted just one election cycle before Bob Hall got the seat back.)

The GOP then began making gains in county government in 2008, which has more recently translated into Republicans holding 2 of 3 County Commissioners’ seats and a majority of the County Council, more recently.

Then you have the 2011 elections, in which Republicans took Jeffersonville’s mayor’s office and six of nine City Council seats.

Yes, it has become more pronounced during the past three years, but the foundation for all of this was laid by Glenn Murphy Jr. seven years ago in Sellersburg and Jeffersonville.

Jacobi, Moore, Perkins…..The Republican Power Brokers
have no one to “run against ” now.

A highly qualified and very good, clean group of hard working nominees.

The primary is over. Judge Moore and Andrew Adams both appeared to have run a clean campaign, free from trashing one another. Both seem like intelligent and capable individuals. For the good of Clark County and the justice system lets support Mr. Adams.
