This post is basically an announcement and explains our position on this matter. It will not be open for discussion to the members. A few days ago I banned hoosiertaxpayer from the Clark County Chatter. In the past our policy has been not to comment on issues such as these believing that it was a private matter between the member in question and the Chatter leaders. I still believe this is correct and unless it’s an unusual situation we will continue with that policy moving forward. This instance seems to be different since hoosiertaxpayer is beating the Chatter up pretty bad over on Gawnews.com while making threats and generally misrepresenting the situation.
hoosiertaxpayer was banned from the Chatter for being a cyber-bully. Plain and simple… that was it. In the calendaryears of 2012 and 2013 he was formally warned 15 times by three different Chatter Administrators for abusive comments to fellow members as well as the Chatter leaders. Looking back now, it’s clear that we were too easy to let HT off of the hook which may have made matters worse. We tried several methods to seek his cooperation. We tried pointing out how the behavior was not in line with what our rules were, as it progressed we tried moderating posts and even a suspension of his account. In June of this year, I published our zero tolerance policy on Trolling, Cyber bullying & Personal Attacks in an effort to gain the cooperation of a few members including hoosiertaxpayer. We liked hoosiertaxpayer and wished to keep him as a contributing member to this forum, we just needed him to stop attacking and bullying other members when he disagreed with their position. I had a number of private message conversations with hoosiertaxpayer seeking his cooperation and was denied with every attempt. I had even pointed out to him that we had gone through the process and that an outright banning of his account was going to be the next step. It’s almost as if this were his goal. This was not something that I wanted to do, but was something that I felt I was forced to do. Regardless of these facts we still like hoosiertaxpayer and we wish him the best for his future endeavors.
As previously stated, I don’t want to have a public discussion of the matter so if you have a question or comment feel free to send me a private message.
